Words Sean Can Speak at 23 Months

This morning while I was preparing for work, my niece and my dad had a recount as to the words that Sean can speak now.We had a laugh trip while trying to imitate Sean as to the way he pronounced it. (By the way, he's 23 months and 5 days today)

Here are the list of words:

  • No -- his favorite!
  • Yes -- with emphasis on the 'sss'
  • Milk - he pronounces it 'meh' whenever he wants to drink his milk
  • Juice - it's funny because everything that is for drinking aside from his milk is called JUICE!
  • Papa - he loves to call his grandpa, Papa -- with very clear intonation.
  • Mama/Meh - when he calls me, his mom.
  • Ipad - his favorite past time.
  • Mouse - whenever he sees Mickey Mouse
  • Shoes - whenever he wants to go outside..he drags someone to get his shoes
  • Come On - pronounced as 'come mom', he loves dragging me to play with him and get inside the  closet.
  • Sheep - when he sees the sheep stuff toy around
  • Up - when he wants to be carried
  • Ball - whenever he sees one (he can even read the word ball)
  • Baby - when he sees a baby (but he pronounces it a little hard like bibi..lol. )
  • Dog - his favorite animal!
  • Bird - he likes the angry birds :)
  • Bye-bye - pronounces clearly and waves when he sees an airplane in the sky
  • Wave - pronounces it as weee!
  • Shoot - pronounces it as shoo... when he wants to shoot the ball
  • Kick - when he plays soccer at the school playground near our apartment.
  • Eyes - pronounces the word with clarity and points to his or his mom's eyes
  • Nose - pronounces while pointing to his nose
There are other words that I may have forgotten, because I'm a little groggy right now because last night Sean had a fever and I had to wake up several times to give him a bed bath. I'm glad that he's feeling better this morning but then, I need to doze off  ZZzzzzzz!!!

Tonging Popsicle Stickts

Today is a little overwhelming than yesterday. I brought home some popsicle sticks and a small tong intended for transferring to a plastic ware. At first my son was into scattering the sticks but after some teaching and guidance, he willingly did it. He was even overjoyed every time a successful transfer happened. At first, his grip was still not firm but later on he was able to hold the tong with confidence, much to my amazement and joy.
Frustrated by not being able to get a stick by using the tong, he put the sticks in the bottle instead.
Trying hard to learn a new thing.
Ooopss! It slipped!

Career Change?

It's my second day of attempting to teach Montessori, however I feel like a failure. Yesterday, we kicked-off with a black and white Treasure basket and playing with different colored blocks.(I tried attaching the picture last night but Sean wanted to play with the mobile phone, so I'll post the picture as soon as I have the chance.) The sad part was, I was not there to see, teach (and learn!) and play with my toddler as I am a working mom. These past few days, I have been contemplating on the idea of a new career, a full-time mom and Montessori-at-home teacher, although things should be weighed for me to finally decide.

A tough decision...help me God!

Here I Go Again...

Back to blogging after a year... I remember my last post was probably 3 months after I gave birth to my dear son, Sean. He's turning 2 on the 8th of July. Whew..how time flies. He's an active toddler now always wanting to go out of the house, explore things and observe everything around him.

I have been inspired to blog again after browsing two of my favorite blogs about Montessori learning 1+1+1=1 and Counting Coconuts. These two sites are  havens for parents wanting to teach their young ones the Montessori way.

I am not a teacher by profession and I'm anxious I might not teach my son well but with prayers, wonderful resources and motivation, let's rock on!
