Halo Halo in Thailand

It feels nice to feel at home.. and Halo halo feels like home!
Halo Halo is shaved ice with toppings like ube, custard, jelly, banana, mongo, ice cream etc.. and is one famous dessert in the Philippines.

Last Saturday afternoon, we went for a drive to Samutprakarn to play badminton and to eat Halo Halo.. although a little far from our place, people visit there just to try Thailand's 1st Halo Halo resto and it does not disappoint.. One thing is missing tho, cheese, cheese and more cheese!!! But in general, it tasted like authentic Philippine Halo Halo!

Not to big a place, but the interior is nice and comfy..

Their logo outside..

And here's Sean's Halo halo with one scoop of ice cream!

Yum yum!!!
Enjoying the Halo Halo, eh???

... and that's the Halo Halo model :)

Sean's 5th Birthday Celebration (Part 1)

Ohhhh! Time is on a flash! How could that be, I still have fresh memories being pregnant with Sean but now its already 5 years since I have given birth to the source of happiness in our lives.

I will be forever thankful to God for my Sean..although super kulit and super active, still he's one treasured gift!

So last July 8, I ordered an S&P cake and brought it to his school.. Kru Kae, his teacher was generous enough to share the pictures taken.

Ahhh.. love his smile in this picture!

With his Mickey mouse cake from S&P.

Look as how he is holding on Kru Kae's arm..haha, so clingy little fellow!

That's Kru (teacher) Kae and her students.
Singing the 'Happy Birthday' song for Sean.

School kids having a slice and a smile!

Daddy's 33rd Birthday at @Thonglor Karaoke

After several days of thinking as to where to celebrate Joevy's birthday, I finally booked @Thonglor, a Thai-Japanese restaurant at the 1st floor and Karaoke rooms at the upper floors. Good for 20 dining seats but little movement is allowed so we sang till midnight with our butts on the chairs... boring, no dancing at all! But still singing is fun and birthdays are fun.. so we sang all our hearts out till midnight!

Here are a few snapshots that I took with my Iphone 6+.

Early morning of the 28th of May, daddy's birthday before he is off to work...

With the gang, the weekend after his birthday to celebrate it at @Thonglor karaoke.

To Swim or Not to Swim?!?

My clock tells me it's 10:11 pm but sleep is so unfriendly tonight!  So here I am, thinking of what to rant...

Oh yeah, yesterday, I tried to join Sean in a swimming class at 11:30 am. Unfortunately, he was uncooperative and scared at the same time. He stayed at the pool gutter the whole time... ignoring his teacher's call for him to join the other two students who were enjoying the water and their lesson. Sigh :(
Bangkok Dolphins is located in Udomsuk, a mere 30 minutes ride.. the place is small but nice, fully equipped for a swimming school and the receptionist named Jenny is accommodating and speaks fluent English. She even suggested that I put Sean in another class, joining another boy who is as scared as he is. Ha!!

But.. I am not sure now if I will be continuing lessons with them as it's a little pricey, 550 Baht for a 30-minute lesson.

Maybe I should look for another teacher.. hmmmm?!?!

My 35th Birthday Celebration

Post Mayweather - Pacquaio fight, I was not in a mood to celebrate my birthday! Well, as you know, Mayweather won the bout with all his moves and hugs. Arrrggghhh, I can't move on but I have to..in a game of boxing, there should be a winner and a loser. But then, it felt like Pacman won because the MGM crowd and even the whole world were cheering for him and there were booing when Mayweather was given the belt.

Anyways, after a few hours of thinking, I finally decided to sing my depression away at the Blu-O Rhythm and Bowl in Major Cineplex (Ekamai).

And guess what.. we all had fun! As to one of my guests said,(a 7-year old girl named JB), it's the best birthday party ever!!!

I really had fun and the food was superb as well!

Songkran Vacation 2015 at Sattahip

I had a one full week Songkran vacation.. so like 9 days off, yay! However, we did not go to a far place, just 3 hours away from Bangkok(30 minutes from Pattaya) is a place called Sattahip. We usually go to this homestay (forgot the name again)that rents out for 500 baht a night and there we can cook food and grill fish. We love staying there as its lenient and the caretakers are nice plus the rooms are clean and neat as well. Only drawback is that there is no free wifi.. but then with 500 bucks, who cares!

However, on the 2nd night, we decided to stay at Ambassador Hotel, a few minutes drive from that homestay. Ambassador Hotel is a big hotel with several towers, but in our case, we booked for the cheapest one, 1000 baht for a small room with breakfast included. What a total disappointment, we stayed in the Inn Tower but the room is really small and the furnitures are old and it's like a tenement.

But then, the beach is just walking distance (and they have shuttle) plus the outside is picturesque, so it's okay.

There are several swimming pools and there is one big pool beside the main building.
That night, we had dinner in Royal Garden Plaza in Pattaya and had a glimpse of Ripley's.

Went home tired and slept on a very soft bed. After breakfast, swimming time again for Sean.
Then back to Bangkok again...

A Visit to London Street in Bangkok

We passed by this beautiful building for a few times already but only last Wednesday that we decided to get inside.

Inside are like 4 or 5 restaurants only, MK, Yayoi, Le Siam and the other two that I forgot the name, a bus for display and booths for ice cream, cotton candy and popcorn. I am wondering as to how does the owner profit when there are only a few tenants and he has to maintain that  expensive-looking place.

We were offered free cones of ice cream and cotton candies. Afterwards, we had a sumptuous Japanese dinner at Yayoi.

After dinner, we were entertained by the marching guards and mascot.

In case you may want to visit, the place is located in Pattanakarn area, just beside Tesco Lotus (Pattanakarn).
